Anchor TextFriday Dec 17, 2010
When putting together a text link campaign, one of the most important strategies to put into place is deciding on the anchor text that you are going to leverage.
Many companies make the mistake of trying to use the same anchor text on hundreds of links, but the problem is that this is not natural. The key is varying up your anchor text, so that it appears as if the links were generated by the webmasters of the respective sites.
In some cases, you will even want to use the name of your site in the anchor text, as everyday people naturally tend to write out the name of the site and link to it.
In tandem with your anchor text, you will want to make sure that you have the right keywords appearing in your title tags and make sure your homepage is optimized to leverage keywords that appear on your subpages.
The big thing overall is to just diversify your text link mix and the best way to do this is by using all different types of anchor text and making sure your links appear on all different types of Web sites.
